Original Photography
By Pete Stacey
For me photography is an entirely subjective experience. I am far more interested in the power of the image than technical perfection. A Photograph should capture a moment, trigger an emotion.Over the last 5 years I have enjoyed combining my two passions in life, namely; photography and travel. Having just returned from a year in India and Nepal, I am now concentrating on my latest batch of travel photographs, sorting through thousands of images taken whilst away.
Most of the pictures on this site are from this last trip, from November 2006 to November 2007, but I have also included a few others from previous journeys.I mostly shoot on film, but have recently discovered the joys of digital photography as well. I enjoy experimenting with different types of film and camera and exposures and techniques. I love shooting with the Lomo LCA; a wonderful little russian 35mm camera with a certain amount of randomness but tonnes of creative flair. I have recently been shooting a lot of high speed B&W film, (the fuji neopan 1600 hands down winner) for those timeless, grainy, photojournalist type images; and I also enjoy shooting on slide film that I cross process in C-41 for those unpredictable, crazy colours.
